“Nigerians’ll smile in coming weeks” – VP Shettima

Vice-President, Kashim Shettima has said Nigerians would smile and prosper in 2025, as the economy has turned the corner.

Shettima, who visited the President at his Lagos residence to mark the New Year, expressed optimism about the nation’s economic trajectory, assured Nigerians that the reforms being implemented by President Bola Tinubu will begin to show positive results in the coming weeks and months.

“The economy has started picking up, and in the coming weeks and months, Nigerians will start smiling for the better”, Shettima said, noting that the country is already showing signs of recovery. He emphasised that the administration is working tirelessly to stabilise and strengthen the Nigerian economy.

According to him, despite the global economic challenges, including the on-going crisis in Ukraine, Nigeria is successfully navigating through these turbulent times with strategic planning and resilience.

Shettima expressed confidence that 2025 will bring robust economic activity, and that Nigerians will prosper as the economy continues its recovery. “I’m highly optimistic about tomorrow. I believe we have turned the corner”, he stated.

The vice-president also acknowledged the global economic headwinds, pointing out that no country is immune to the effects of global events. However, he reassured Nigerians that the nation has crossed a significant threshold and is now on a path to sustained growth.
